Soul, sensibility and spirit best describe the fashion and colour stories for fall and winter. There are still lots of vibrant and energizing colours along with subdued hues. Staple neutrals artfully balance the bright shades of the season. There are still heavy influences from ’50’s glam, 60’s Mod and Boho, and 70’s sleek, utilizing fresh lines and colours.

Fall 2011/Winter 2012 Colour StoryMy collections don’t closely follow trends, because I like to be creative and follow wherever my imagination takes me. My collections are inspired mostly by people and stories. But having said that I make jewellery to wear with my own clothes, and often I work into the designs the current colours that I have in my closet. Of course jewellery and fashion work together, and it’s always good to have accessories that look good with brand new purchases. Here’s a selection of my favourite completely wearable items for fall and winter.

Jewellery
This season is seeing a lot of lady-like, classic and mature styles inspired by old Hollywood. Playful and colourful jewellery are always welcome to warm up the cold season.

The Top 5
• Winter cool silver is being combined with gold for a bi-colour combination.
• Pearls in modern colours and layers and and classic single strands.
• Nature inspired and motif jewellery.
• Metal jewellery alone without beads or stones.
• Coloured gemstones paired with neutrals and clear white stones.

Fall Fashion
Fall Classics: knits, leather, velvet, fur, peacoats, tweeds, tartans and plaids.
2011 Highlights: Shiny gold tones and metallics, net/sheer shoulders, lace, bold coloured pants and coats, peplums.

Lovely Lady
A blend of sophistication and class with structured hats and bags, soft furs, gloves and high boots for a modern approach.

Fall Flowers
Relatively new in the fall fashion scene, florals both vintage and modern, from roses to dandelions. Florals are becoming popular seasonless prints.

Warming Trend
Classic and modern approaches to capes and ponchos make the cooler weather welcome. Long duster coats are great over dresses and for those cold days.
